How to overcome your fear of traveling to other places

Traveling is supposed to be fun and exciting, however to some people, they find traveling to another place as being so overwhelming and scary. I am not an expert on this matter but it doesn't hurt to take note of some of my advice when/if you started experiencing fear or paranoia in traveling to other places.

It would help to travel with another person or with a group. Instead of focusing on your fear, you can divert your attention by starting a conversation with someone. In that way, you can get away with the overwhelming feeling of anxiety. You can also try bringing up your feeling of fear with that person but you have to exercise it with caution as having someone with no total understanding of your situation may actually aggravate your anxiety. Maybe a close friend you trust of a loved-one is the best person to talk to during your travel.

Another possible way to divert your fear is to bring interactive games like a board game, or activities that will require you to funnel your thoughts differently. The more you focus your energy on positive things, you more you'll feel you have the authority over your negative thoughts.

Drink plenty of water instead of carbonated drinks. Sugar may stimulate your fear negatively so hydrating your body with water may have a neutralizing effect to your thoughts and vision.

Try researching about your travel location. Having your negative thoughts to completely run your emotions will just ruin your plans. Try searching positive reviews about the location and weigh it with all the bad things you heard about the area. Having an educated judgement puts you in control and makes you a smart traveler too.

Keep an itinerary of your travel plan and make sure you keep yourself busy all through-out the trip. When your body is feeling exhausted, it creates a stimulus to relax you down. During this process, you can easily find time to relax and focus on re-energizing your body instead of funneling to your negative visions.

When traveling to place you haven't been, increase paranoia may be a experienced, which is just normal, so it would be better to keep an open mind. Remember, however, to prepare for any untoward incident. Just in case anything unplanned happen, make sure to be on your toes. Before your trip, it may help to do a little stretching, or maybe some jogging to keep your body fit, healthy and fresh. You have the power to be in control so planning is always the best option.

When you are sitting on a vehicle, try sitting close to the window so you can get a fresh view of the environment. Keep memories of the beautiful green scenery on your trip and the bright blue sky and the animals grazing in the field, or the children playing and swimming in the cold river. These are positive thoughts they have therapeutic effect on your brain.

Imagine the nice good things you plan to do in your travel location. Picture yourself as a happy, born-free kind of person doing a lot of fun stuff during your travel. Having a positive goal is much more helpful that channeling yourself to negative thoughts.

Practice variety. Don't limit yourself as to what you can do. Explore the world, imagine all possibilities. The heart of a traveler never stops in a heartbeat but rather continue to pump as each day goes on.

Here are some practical tips that will make your next travel easy and memorable

Planning your next best trip this summer vacation can be so overwhelming. Not to worry! Everywhereist made a list of the 55 best travel tips that could practically help you make your trip successful, but I'm probably just going to highlight the most important ones that I think helped me a lot on my last trips.

#1 Always pack a hat. This summer is literally one of the hottest ever. The heat seems to sip into my skin so practically bringing a hat when you are outside would be one of the best options. And besides, it doesn't cost you so much to get one. You can buy a new one at probably 50 pesos or get a used one. It's just probably better to have protection that nothing at all.

#2 Never forget to bring a first aid kit. You can add the following to your list like paracetamol, "pain killers" or ibuprofen, anti allergies, bandages. These things come in very handy during our last trip to Majayjay Falls in Sta Cruz Laguna.

#3  Buy cheap bottled water in advance as some bottled water could be very expensive in some places. This could save you the time to buy the water and the expenses too.

#4 Wear proper travel gear or attire. If you are going on a hiking, being on a dressy outfit won't be of any help. However, you can still bring at least one for some occasions. It will save you a lot of space in your bags too.

#5 is one of my favorites. Bring bags with wheels. I am a backpack guy but during one of our trips to Baguio, me and my wife realized that it wouldn't hurt to bring bags with wheels too.

#6 Cellphones and other mobile devices are popular these days and they are a good alternative to DSLR cameras and point-and-shoot so don't forget to bring an extra battery or charger. Batteries don't always last long these days especially if you are capturing photos and recording videos. Bring a POWER BANK works every time all the time.

#7 It's more practical to bring clothes that don't require ironing. One of the experiences we had on our travels is that we changed clothes from time to time so this tip absolutely works for the family.

All my thanks to the writer from everywhereist. Helps me. I'm sure would help you too. You can click on any links on this post to read full article.

Southeastasiabackpacker lists the top 10 things to do in the Philippines

The Philippines is composed of about 7,107 islands, so if you are planning for such a great trip southeastasiabackpacker made a list of the top 10 things you can do during your trip. Click here  for full details.

A deadly advice when traveling to the Philippines

If you haven't visited some of the beautiful spots in the Philippines, here are a couple of reminders that you would have to consider first before you get dead serious about it.

Number ONE. Filipinos are very hospitable people so please make sure you bring your best and warmest smiles as well. We will greet you anywhere and anytime because that's who we are, and that's how we were raised by our loving parents, most especially if you come to visit our beautiful places like Cebu, Bicol, Vigan, Iloilo, and I would say in almost all parts of the country. BEWARE of our generous hospitality as you will be seriously wanting to come back soon.

Number TWO. Make sure you try our death defying, life threatening, most dreadful "balut". To most of my co-Pinoys who grew up abroad, this thing is a sure fear factor. No Worries! It's not poisonous at all. In fact it's one of the most nutritious and delicious street food you will surely enjoy.

Number THREE. Ride the JEEPNEY. This is very unique to our country and if you haven't tried it, you will miss half of your travel to the Philippines.

Number FOUR. If you are total food geek and would like to try different delicacies, there's a lot of unique and authentic food you can only taste here in the Philippines. We have "adobong palaka" which is a local food in the northern part of the country. Or you can try "Uok", which are very delicious wood worms you can eat in raw. You can also try "coconut crabs" that is cooked in special gata. I'm sure you'll love it once you taste it. Try "alamang" or "bagoong" too which has a very lasting aroma. Now don't forget to include "tuyo" or dried fish in your breakfast and serve it with "kamatis" or tomato and salted egg, just try the "mantikado" one as it taste much better than regular salted egg. I would also recommend for you to try "daing na bangus", "empanadang Iloco", "loming Batangas", "bulalo", "bagnet", "litson Cebu", "pancit habhab", "suman", and our "inihaw" delicacies.

Number FIVE. Learn some famous Filipino expressions and ways of gratitude like "salamat po", "magandang umaga, tanghali, gabi or hapon", "maayong buntag" if you're planning to go to Cebu (click here for more Cebuano words and expressions), or learn some common "kapampangan" terms like "alang nanu naman", (click here for more kapampangan words and expressions), or some Ilokano words like "kablaaw" or hello, (click here for more Ilokano words and expressions).

Number SIX. If you are planning to go to town festivity or fiesta, make sure to keep some coins as you'll get caught up by a number of stop-points with a number of people who will ask you for some contribution to their fiesta, which is pretty common in the barrio or rural areas.

Number SEVEN. Keep a hungry stomach especially when you are traveling to places celebrating festive events like town fiestas as people will surely invite you to take a bite of their feast as sign of gratitude to their local "nino's" or "nina's".

Number EIGHT. In the Philippines, you won't need to bring a physical map as you are surely welcomed by the locals. Again, just always keep a friendly smiling face.

Number NINE. Don't forget your swim wears. The Philippines is literally surrounded by different forms of water from the lovely beaches of Luzon, going to the beautiful beaches of Visayas like the famous Boracay, and the untouched beaches in Mindanao.

Number TEN. And last but not the least, don't forget to enjoy! The Philippines is such a great country with many elements of beauty from people to land and surroundings. Don't forget to bring your friends and your lovely camera to take a keepsake of your wonderful journey to the Philippines.
