How to overcome your fear of traveling to other places

Traveling is supposed to be fun and exciting, however to some people, they find traveling to another place as being so overwhelming and scary. I am not an expert on this matter but it doesn't hurt to take note of some of my advice when/if you started experiencing fear or paranoia in traveling to other places.

It would help to travel with another person or with a group. Instead of focusing on your fear, you can divert your attention by starting a conversation with someone. In that way, you can get away with the overwhelming feeling of anxiety. You can also try bringing up your feeling of fear with that person but you have to exercise it with caution as having someone with no total understanding of your situation may actually aggravate your anxiety. Maybe a close friend you trust of a loved-one is the best person to talk to during your travel.

Another possible way to divert your fear is to bring interactive games like a board game, or activities that will require you to funnel your thoughts differently. The more you focus your energy on positive things, you more you'll feel you have the authority over your negative thoughts.

Drink plenty of water instead of carbonated drinks. Sugar may stimulate your fear negatively so hydrating your body with water may have a neutralizing effect to your thoughts and vision.

Try researching about your travel location. Having your negative thoughts to completely run your emotions will just ruin your plans. Try searching positive reviews about the location and weigh it with all the bad things you heard about the area. Having an educated judgement puts you in control and makes you a smart traveler too.

Keep an itinerary of your travel plan and make sure you keep yourself busy all through-out the trip. When your body is feeling exhausted, it creates a stimulus to relax you down. During this process, you can easily find time to relax and focus on re-energizing your body instead of funneling to your negative visions.

When traveling to place you haven't been, increase paranoia may be a experienced, which is just normal, so it would be better to keep an open mind. Remember, however, to prepare for any untoward incident. Just in case anything unplanned happen, make sure to be on your toes. Before your trip, it may help to do a little stretching, or maybe some jogging to keep your body fit, healthy and fresh. You have the power to be in control so planning is always the best option.

When you are sitting on a vehicle, try sitting close to the window so you can get a fresh view of the environment. Keep memories of the beautiful green scenery on your trip and the bright blue sky and the animals grazing in the field, or the children playing and swimming in the cold river. These are positive thoughts they have therapeutic effect on your brain.

Imagine the nice good things you plan to do in your travel location. Picture yourself as a happy, born-free kind of person doing a lot of fun stuff during your travel. Having a positive goal is much more helpful that channeling yourself to negative thoughts.

Practice variety. Don't limit yourself as to what you can do. Explore the world, imagine all possibilities. The heart of a traveler never stops in a heartbeat but rather continue to pump as each day goes on.
